Hunt trucking a defensive player

I actually wondered about it also. When they showed the replay in slow motion, I thought they didn't call it because he hit him with his shoulder.  He did lower his head however, and I watched another game were a RB got called on a similar play close to the sideline. They mentioned how hard it is for a runner to stay upright because that's how they've been taught since they were kids.

i can see if he had hit helmet to helmet but he popped the player in the shoulder...dude got steamrolled

Rule states that using the Helmet to initiate contact with any part of the defensive player is illegal, not just helmet to helmet...

Just a physical play. Hunt is a beast that no one wants to tackle. He needs to save some for the Jags.

evidently the refs did not agree with you or the rule

Ridiculous statement. They blew the call.

Just like when its ZERO on the play clock its a penalty.

It really hasn't been called at all this year, but gotta bitch about something I guess.

4 calls so far this year....I am not bitching, I can't stand Denver, but a rule is a rule.

When will people understand, the rule is to protect QBs, WRs, and RBs. It's not designed to protect the defenders. Very few penalties are there to protect defensive players.

Much like hands to the face and face masking. A defender or olineman puts his hand on someones face mask, most of the times it's called. A runner does it, it is a clean tough play. Same with picks, holding PI etc. As long as there are humans officiating the games there will always be controversy.
