gballs 3
Chiefs signed OG Jeff Allen. Allen spent the first four seasons of his career in Kansas City before leaving for Houston and a big-money deal. That move did not work out, and Allen was released with an injury settlement in July. He is apparently healthy now, however, and could quickly earn a starting spot.

VIChiefsFan 262
I don't think he has a lot of speed but with his size he should be able to tackle better than the safeties we have now.
Palangi 788
Why? I would rather Wylie play RG. Why bring a guy in that was cut and nobody wanted? Develop threw youth. Wylie has looked good when given the opportunity

If he plays well enough to start so be it. I think it’s just a depth signing.
Palangi 788
Reiter and devey can play center. Wylie and devey can play guard. Hell let the rookie McKenzie get in. A washed up vet isn't going to do anything

FANATIC 852
28 years old is not old. Injury settlement with Houston. Played well in KC. Knows the system somewhat. Reid knows him. Good pick up if healthy.
TomahawkChop 255
I don't see this announced anywhere. Is this information accurate? I like it if true. Solid depth guy who knows the system.

Spfdchiefsfan 621
He got cut because of injury and money. he signed as a free agent for a lot of money and had an injury. If he's fully healthy, he will add quality depth!
liquidfriend 1,151
For depth, I think bringing him back is a solid addition. He did well for us right before he left.
dhitter 1,426
Veach has to keep tinkering with this team. Injuries and lack of depth are the biggest issues this team faces. Some would say its the defense but we had a solid pass rush until Houston got hurt. Once he comes back and get it going again that makes the back end not so vulnerable. Lamardirts 2,117
Yeah I like the addition. Normally I wouldn't mind giving McKenzie some run but not with the future back there playing qb.

Regardless we definitely shouldn't mess around with the OL depth and spending the roster spot from LDT on another OL is the smart move. He could be the 3rd guy behind Wylie and McKenzie for all I care. IMO they like McKenzie and kept him in 53 to stop others from grabbing him but might not be trusting him with a role on the field as he's still a developmental guy. the Warparty 69
Allen, if himself, will add some nasty to this OL. Hell, the whole team could use some more nasty!

dksww 484
Jeff Allen won't immediately start, he's just going to provide depth. Devey and Wylie will start and played pretty well against the Patriots.
reesebobby 5,663
I think Devey and Wylie should handle Suh and Aaron Donald pretty well.

Allen had a handful of starts at right and left tackle but played almost exlusively at guard and his last season here was quite good (PFF top 20 guard). He never played center though. gochiefsgo 380
He can play both center and guard. That’s why he’s back.
