We don't need a safety. Parker is fine. The scheme which almost burned us for a L in the previous matchup was the problem. You don't play Cover 2 press in those situatuons damnit.

Parker has graded out at a 57.0 overall on the year. Good for 71st out of all safeties. The dude isnt fine, he is pathetic. If you dont think we need an upgrade there, you arent paying attention.

Agree.  Neither Parker nor Murray should be more than backups who come in for a few plays to fill a space.

Parker signed a minimum contract with the Falcons to be the #4 Safety on that team.....Then was released during pre-season!

So your saying our starting safety isn't good enough for another teams #4 safety role and we don't need to replace him?  OUCH

Houston and Berry need to restructure their deals.  You can't cut Berry and $7M in dead money is a lot to eat on Houston.  100% agree you FT Ford next year and see if he can stay healthy/produce two years in a row before paying him huge $.

By all accounts, Ha Ha is playing well this year however he's been so inconsistent I would not feel comfortable tying up long-term money in him.

Landon Collins, I'd do it all day.  That's been my trade deadline crush for a month.  He's physical and has serious range.  Would be nice enforcement on the back-end and a material upgrade over anything with the word "safety" tied to it.  Problem is, he kind of plays a similar role to Berry.  That said, you could figure it out.

When that 7 million frees up 15 million because his contract is north of 20 mil per year.  We’ve sucked with him and without him this year so you can’t tell me 15 million wouldn’t fill some holes on this team and make it better.

With the salary these guys are getting now I'm actually not sure we could replace him with someone for $15M?  HELL Hitchens got $9M a year from us and Watkins $16M.

Look like Ford would cost $16.325 if we put the franchise tag on him.

Exactly what is dead money? Just money the team eats or counts against the cap? They have  to pay it anyway.

It's the money team has paid or will pay to the player that hasn't already been counted against the cap. It's divided over the player's contract as an entirely optional flexibility for the team and if the contract gets terminated the part that is divided over the future years count against the immediate cap.

Houston is still decent in coverage and against the run. 21 million a year is very high IMO but not that big of a deal when there's enough cap space to focus on more urgent needs. We'll likely have one of our OLBs leave in FA (Ford) and sending Houston as well creates yet another hole we need to fill via draft/FA. The cap saved is definitely not worth it especially when the staff needs to focus on higher priority needs to begin with.

CBs: We need at least 2 new starters next year (Nelson and Scandrick are leaving)

Safety: We need another starter

ILB: Not much to say

DE: Need to replace Bailey

OC: Not sure if they decide to stick with Morse but have been actively looking to replace him.

Adding OLB to the list when we have a decent but overpaid guy doesn't make any sense. Let's just overpay him for another year and fix other issues.

Late on this reply but Parker completely blew coverage twice on Sunday including the TD pass at the end of the half.  Mental errors.
