Raiders Week - Away game

OAK was a much better team last season.  Remember?  They were the talking head darlings to win the division before the season started.  Gruden just dismantled the system and traded away the present for a hoped for future in LAS.  The ending of the game in OAK last season was one of those that caused us to keep asking, "How did that just happen?"

No doubt a team minus Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper (who had a huge game in Oakland) isn’t the same.  Hard to believe many people did pick them to win the West that year.

Andy did lose a game there to a bad Raiders team in maybe 2014?  He’s like 20-2 vs AFC West since then which is pretty amazing.

Okay. So it was a legit 3 point game into the 4th quarter. I was forced to watch Patriots and Jets so I was paying attention to the scores and I just remember that surprising me.  This is the NFL so I’m not dogging Ravens but pointing out a reality.

Second TD was a 75 yd drive- we had lost Jefferson, Safety, to an ankle injury and they were still figuring things out on the back end.

Like I said- they were never really in it...

Okay, okay.  We get your point.  The Ravens are just awesome.  😄

The game is in Oakland.  The only thing watchers of the game will be able to see is 75,000 parolees and dead-beat dads.

That’s Oakland where there may be 40,000 parolees, dead beats and high school dropouts. Most people there don’t have the $10 to get in. 😀

That makes me laugh, seeing that their new stadium is coming furnished eith its own jail. I remember the old Eagles stadium had one and rightfully so.

The Raiders’ brand-new stadium will feature retractable doors, a glass-domed roof, a grass field and some amenities just for the team’s notorious fan base: a jail and courtroom.

Some people think moving the team to Vegas will somehow completely change the fan base. That's not happening. They will get some new fans but for the most part you better watch your back at those games!

the Chiefs stadium happens to have it's own jail as well.  I know because I had to pick one of my drunk friends up at the end of the game out of it.

I've never heard of that at Arrowhead. Are you sure its not just a drunk tank paddy wagon run by the KCMO police or is it literally inside the stadium?

A buddy of mine, yes I do have some, maybe one or two, but a buddy of mine is a 49er fan. He was raised in the area and his family lives north of SF. He said with their new stadium the wine and cheese crowd moved in. I also heard from longtime Denver season ticket holders, the same thing happened when the Doncos changed stadiums.

The best thing the Vegas Casinos could do is put game packages together. Packages like tickets, hotel, air fare and shuttle to and from the airport and game. Think about how much revenue they would generate with these packages. Make it a weekend thing, come out on Friday out Sunday evening, unless night game or Monday/ Thursday. That would create a different package.

My best friend lives in Vegas so I have my place to sleep.

Oh no doubt they are going to have HUGE turnouts from opposing fans at every game. It's good for the city of Vegas for sure.

Unfortunately they were or still are maybe, screwing the locals. They started charging for parking at the Casinos to help with Knights and Raiders.

FYI, if they are still charging and you're prior military with proper identification the different Casino groups give a free parking pass for a year. I know the parking this past October was steep. I believe I saw someone pay over 10 bucks for 3 hours.

That weekend package deal would be awesome. That would definitely bring even more business to Vegas.  I don't know how much a home field advantage there Raiders would have though.  Seems a lot of visiting fans would be going and filling the stadium.  Reminds me a bit of our chargers game in LA. Seems half the stadium was chiefs fans.

Vegas actually has quiet a few football fans. Most follow the California teams, either Chargers or Rams who ever is playing best. The Knights pull in a decent crowd.

You would think a lot of them would support the Rams now.  I don't see this as any type of homefield for the Raiders, every opposing fan base will use that game as an excuse to travel to Vegas and watch their own team.

Off topic but that pre-game show by the Vegas nights during the Stanley Cup was like a live look-in at Medieval Times on Saturday night......sheesh
